Cyprus Third Age Archaeology Group visited Erimi Pamboula on the 4th of July 2026. We were delighted to show them around the site!
Angelos Hadjikoumis (STARC - The Cyprus Institute), has just finished his recording of last season's faunal remains from Erimi Pamboula and gave the team a lecture on zooarchaeology.
On Tuesday the 15th of July, the modular educational activity "Exploring Chalcolithic Erimi" took place. In the first part of the event, the Archaeological Officer of the Department of Antiquities, Elena Stylianou, presented basic information about the profession of the archaeologist and the archaeological process to the students of the Erimi Summer School. Subsequently, more than 50 students from the higher classes visited the archaeological site of Erimi Pamboula and were informed by the excavators about the ongoing research there. During their visit, they had the opportunity to examine real artifacts, such as stone tools and pottery sherds, as well as to shape and decorate their own clay vessels.
We would like to thank everyone involved in the event for the constructive experience; we are working towards repeating similar educational activities in the future.
On the 22nd of July 2026, the APEP team hosted an OPEN DAY for the public. We were pleased to welcome numerous visitors from Erimi and beyond, friends, and colleagues from the Department of Antiquities, Cyprus, the Italian Mission of Erimi Laonin tou Porakou, the Cyprus Institute, the Local Archaeological Museum of Kourion and others.
